DIPA has provided leadership for establishment and sharing of vital telecommunications passive infrastructure between various service providers – mainly towers ever since its inception, resulting in India emerging as the country with second largest private sector investment in infrastructure and in generating direct and indirect employment for more than 4 million across India. The sharing of infrastructure on a non-discriminatory basis between service providers has been a key factor in enabling the Indian telecom industry to provide services at lowest tariff across the world. Under its new avatar as DIPA, it aims to extend this leadership now to all aspects of digital infrastructure for the entire ICT industry and thereby contribute to India becoming a robust digital economy which would enable inclusive growth across the country covering all sections of society.
What started as an association of telecom tower providers, has today expanded to be a thought leader in digital communications infrastructure industry, with members including from leading telecom infrastructure providers, connectivity solutions providers, various energy management companies among others and still expanding to include other allied and critical stakeholders of the growing sector such as data centre, Wi-Fi, IoT, Smart cities, In-building connectivity, satellite communication, small cells, alternate energy solutions etc. DIPA will continue to play the role of a thought leader for the industry and support the diverse community of stakeholders by providing with dedicated resources, advocacy, expertise, and networking.
